Friday Night at Dodgers Stadium

Lucky lucky girls. One of my friend's neighbors works in sales for the Dodgers so we were hooked up with free Loge-level tickets for the Padres vs. Dodgers game. I had been to many Padres games (since I am a San Diego native and a sad sad Padres fan), but I had never been to Dodgers Stadium, so this was definitely a check off of the LA bucket list.

The traffic was terrible, but I did love that the stadium was secluded from the rest of the Los Angeles hustle-and-bustle. I tried my first Dodger Dog, and I even was allowed onto the field for the fireworks! It was a great to end the first week at the new job with another new adventure. Plus, beer and a good hot dog is always welcome.

What's on Your Los Angeles Bucket List?

One of my best friends is leaving for vet school at UC Davis, and despite all of us living in LA for the past six years, there are so many things that we have yet to experience! Of course, we're trying to cram all of these into her last week (despite working full time and packing up her entire apartment). A lot of these things on our list I have already done, but I feel like you can't live in Los Angeles and not do these things.

Los Angelenos, what are the activities on your bucket list? Here are a few that are on mine:

1. Hike to the Hollywood sign
2. Take the Orochon challenge
3. Visit the Santa Monica Pier and ride the Ferris wheel
4. Drive up the PCH all the way through Malibu to Santa Barbara (like we did here)
5. Eat fish tacos at James Beach
6. Visit the Griffith Observatory at night, stargaze
7. Walk through Rodeo drive, celeb stalk
8. Buy a six pack of Sprinkles cupcakes, eat them all
9. Walk the Venice boardwalk after pitchers of Sangria
10. Go to a summer concert at the Hollywood Bowl, drink lots of wine
11. Visit the Getty Museum, Getty Gardens, and Getty Villa

Monday Date Night at The Perch

After a long weekend complete with family bonding and high school graduation parties at the yacht club, I decided to take a mental health day on Monday in order to tie up some loose ends (and spend some much needed time with loved ones).

This included an extravagant date -a late Valentine's Day, so to speak- at The Perch in downtown Los Angeles. With rooftop views of the city skyline, The Perch is an ideal date spot with delicious French decor, and a 1920s feel that really makes you want to stay and order another Peach Kir Royale. We were actually able to take in the whole feel of the metropolis by Subway, with our final destination with a romantic dinner of drinks and delicious food. The highlight for both of us was undoubtedly the Jacques Collins -lemon juice, soda, simple syrup, and saffron gin. It truly was an unexpected and savory delight. Hugh Laurie Makes Us Feel Classy on a Thursday

A wonderful television series ended this week. Yes, I'm talking about House M.D. Kevin was feeling rather sad about it, so on a whim we decided to try and see Hugh Laurie in concert.

Well, well,  here we are again at yet another spectacular spectacular Coldplay concert. This past Tuesday I was lucky enough to visit the Hollywood Bowl with three of my friends and boyfriend in tow. A magical night of miracles where we barely made the Hollywood and Highland shuttle, and where we were able to picnic on not one, not two, but three bottles of wine (okay it was more like 3 mondo-bottles...), endless Brie and baguettes, cured meats, hummus, and my famous broccoli pasta salad.

Los Angeles Beer Fest

This weekend a handful of my oldest friends came up for the day on Saturday to frequent the amazing Los Angeles Beer Fest. Aside from a horrible sun burn and a terrible rendition of 'Rock Me Like a Hurricane' while waiting in line for a tap that ran out, it was overall an amazing time and a great way to celebrate my friend's birthday and recent engagement. The best beer, the best city, the best time.

What is this amazing Beer Fest? Well, for one low flat rate you get a 3 oz. adorable mug and let loose to stumble around in the Paramount Pictures Studio to drink as much beer as you can for three hours. 

They also invite some amazing food trucks for you to soak up the ever so dangerous three hours of all-you-can-drink-beer including the Border Grill truck, Greasy Wieners, Komodo, and the Bun Truck. My favorite beers this time around (yes, we went last year too): Red Trolley Amber Ale, Hollywood Blonde, and Big Daddy I.P.A.

Plus, did you know if you say "beer can" in an English accent, it sounds like you're saying "bacon" in Jamaican?

The Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History has made weekend night museum hopping desirable. Social pedants, pretentious hipsters, and spontaneous thrill seekers unite! First Fridays is the place to be.

The Tour of Infamous Brentwood Celebrity Deaths

One week ago I went on a run to Pressed Juicery (on a whim, trust me I'm not a runner) and decided to check out the famous houses that are within blocks of where I live.

Now by "infamous houses," I mean residences where infamous deaths occurred. I'm not kidding - two infamous murder-suicides happened within a few blocks of where I live, and, of course, I had to check it out on my run.
