{It's sinfully delicious to roast bacon wrapped around seasoned asparagus}
This weekend was St. Patrick's Day also known as an excuse to eat, drink, and be merry. My roommate and I hosted the St. Patrick's Day fete this year, and we couldn't be happier with how our little party turned out. We sampled delicious appetizers, drank festive drinks, and even made it out to a local pub despite all of the rain, cold and gloom Los Angeles decided to throw our way.

Despite our best efforts to stay "healthy" (is butter a carb?), our feast was both a feast for the eyes and a feast for the stomach. I brought to the table green garlic mashed potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus (that was nearly impossible to wait for because of the intoxicating bacon fumes penetrating our nostrils) and my roommate cooked Guinness chocolate chip brownies.

It was fun to have friends gather around the table and drink Irish car bombs (Guinness, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Jameson Whiskey) and a cold pint o' Guinness. This year we definitely were less trouble than we were last year. Other dishes brought by some were cheesy artichoke dip and chicken and guacamole nachos.
{Delightful}
To make the bacon wrapped asparagus, you season the asparagus with olive oil, salt and pepper. Take two asparagus and wrap them with half a strip of bacon. Roast in the oven at 450 degrees until the bacon starts to turn brown and crispy (about 25-30 minutes). I'm not kidding - it's almost impossible to allow yourself to wait for them to cool to eat them.
Sounds lovely! Must make that asparagus ASAP - yum!
